Deer attacks hunter in Wisconsin
On January 2nd, a 72 year old man was attacked after shooting a deer with his crossbow. The injury was severe, and he was transported by ambulance to the St. Agnes Hospital. No further information has been given related to his injuries but the doctors say he's going to be fine. Apparently the deer struck him in the leg with her head. Although deer attacks are very rare, it's a reminder that you should always pay attention and be careful how you approach an injured animal.
Here are some good advices:
- Get close to the wounded animal and watch for chest cavity activity.
- Look at the eyes. The eyes of a dead animal are open. If they are closed, it means that the animal is not yet dead.
- Approach very careful and grab something to poke the animal to see if there is any reaction.
- Stay away from the head, until you are absolutely sure the animal is dead.
