Crossbow hunting legalized in West Virginia
Two changes has been approved by the Natural Resources Commission. First regards the spring gobbler season for 2016 which will start one week earlier.
The second change is a major one: crossbow hunting in West Virginia was legalized. The measure was triggered by legislative action. The crossbow season will start on the opening day of archery season and last until the end of the year.
The legislation did not require a crossbow license. Hunters will need only a license for bow hunting that is legal for using a crossbow. Crossbow hunting will be legal statewide in West Virginia with the exception of Mingo, Logan, McDowell, and Wyoming Counties.
